I tried to write some haiku while I was on my Oregon holiday, but my brain seemed to want to turn off and just enjoy. This is all I came up with:

particles of sand

fly like a swarm of insects

nipping at my skin

I grew up in Florida, as much as I hated the heat, your haiku of sand nipping at the skin brought back good memories. It is good that your brain allowed you just to enjoy your holiday. I bet more haiku will come out later.
