I remember in the early 80’s a similar thing happened. Graffiti spread everywhere and the certain markings turned up quite frequently. There was the martini glass with olive. There was the barking dog. There were $ signs. They were worldly signs. I wonder if this sign is an otherworldly sign. Wghat does that say about the the first decade of the new century?
